- Drinking water is beneficial but pouring it on your Head will not restore Body fluids.
-Besides drinking plenty of water, drink a lot of fluids to avoid dehydration. The ever-popular nimbu pani or lemonade is an excellent drink to feel refreshed. If you are cautious of drinking lemonade, then the natural thirst-quencher is coconut water. Coconut water contains sugar, fiber, and proteins along with vitamins and minerals COCONUT WATER – YOUR BEST FRIEND IN SUMMER. In the Exhausting Heat we loose fluids & minerals through Sweating.   So, to restore it the best way is to drink Coconut water Twice or Thrice a day.  It has all the necessary minerals in it which we require.
-Buttermilk with  sugar etc. Helps your body to be refreshed &   maintains fluids also.
-Develop a habbit of not going out without a water bottle with you esp when you are travelling long.

Ø  FOOD AND REGIMEN
-Eat easily digestible food in summer
-fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables are best Consuming foods. Fresh fruits, vegetable juices, raw  salads, and lots of water -- will nourish your body for summertime activities. E.g Fruits like Grapes, Pineapple, Water-melons, Sugarcane juice.
-Eat a lot of salads and fresh fruits that naturally contain water, like water melon – in fact this fruit contains nearly 92% water and up to 14% of vitamin C. This will add to the moisture content that you will lose through sweating. Small amounts of vitamin B and potassium are also found in this fruit.

Nutritional supplements -
Nutritional supplements can support you with a greater amount of physical energy, enhancing your summer activities. The B-complex vitamins are calming to the nervous system and helpful for cellular energy production, while vitamin C and the other antioxidants protect your body from stress, chemical pollutants, and the biochemical by-products of exercise. Helpful summer herbs are  ginseng as an energy tonic and stress protector

       -Try to Limit these foods:

       - Pungent, Spicy food items, Salty, dry & Sour food items.  Fatty food, fried items try to limit.

      - Coffee & Tea are not good to take as they stimulate the Central Nervous System.

Ø  Avoid eating oily food and especially avoid eating cut fruit from vendors as it may have been exposed to flies and dust.

Ø  PROTECT YOURSELF FROM OVEREXPOSURE TO SUN
- Go out only if it's unavoidable.
-Try to avoid going out unnecessary between the peak hours 11am- 4pmPREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. Because at this time UV Rays are the strongest enough to harm us.
-But however if it’s unavoidable then go out with measures  like, Sun glasses, Caps, Hats, Shades, Umbrella – really help us    to protect our skin & eyes from UV Rays.  Sunglasses that provide 99%  UV-A & UV-B Protection will reduce eye damage.
-For girls wear full size cotton gloves when you are outside.
-Apply SunScreen lotion to Exposed parts only before going out each time.
-Wear cloths made up of cotton, Loose fitting, full sleeves covering majority of your body area will help you, if possible wear White color cloths as it reflects heat back.

Ø  Do Exercise Only In Morning Or Evening :-
-It’s better to work out in summer season when weather is cool & comfortable.
-Don’t do physical activities beyond your strenghth & capacity.
-Swimming is good exercise to choose in summer.

Ø  TAKE SPECIAL CARE OF CHILDREN :-
-If you are travelling with children always cover them with cotton clothes, Small babies should always remain in shades.
-Children are more susceptible to Environmental changes than Adults, & in children cases of dehydration happens more frequently than adults. So always take special care for them keep on giving some fluids regularly.
If Possible “BATH TWICE A DAY WITH COOL WATER.”

  • Try to get some parking only in shady areas! This will ensure that your car does not heat up while you are out!
  • Keep a hand held fan to use so that you can keep cool when you are outdoors.
  • When you feel warm indoors hang a wet sheet by a window, which is open. This way you will get cool air from the water as it evaporates and blows toward you from the open window.
  • Close your windows before it gets too hot outside. The heat will otherwise get sucked in.
